Connectedness with Nature reconnects us with memories of our ancient roots and reminds us of our relationships and connection with animals, insects, the winds, rain, etc. I remember an event while living on Navajo Reservation and working for Navajo Nation, where we shared our origin stories, beliefs, ceremonies, use of healing crystals, etc. A group of us were outside on a lovely day and a large ant was walking by. We watched in silence as more joined that ant who was dragging a large crumb. It would probably be like a person carrying a large boulder. They all worked together to move that crumb to their hill. We spoke about the teachings of ant people as we call them--community connection, teamwork and perseverance, all working together for the good of the whole. When we stop to pay attention to what is around us, we can learn much from the creepy crawlers, those that fly, etc. Spend more time outside, get some sun rays, which helps our circadian rhythm, and helps to heal us. Smell the rain, listen to the winds. And remember, all the creatures are our relatives, even the ones we may fear, like snakes, spiders, etc. They all have a place in our ecosystem and are busy dong the work they were created to do.

I have found that so many people get bogged down with negative thinking, which I call "stinking thinking" as it fosters feelings of inferiority, lowers self esteem and self worth, and creates self loathing. Sometimes we have memories of being bullied, being called names or being told negative things about our potential. Many clients have told me, "Oh I can't draw, or I can't do such and such". When I ask them how they are so certain, they tell me some 3rd grade teacher criticized their art project or a parent told them they lack talent or potential for success. Well, I am here to tell you that you that those words stored inside your mind are someone's else's projection. They are false beliefs you are holding on to and really have no positive use for you. Each one of us holds the ability to succeed, no matter what it may look like. It is not about how much money you have in your bank account or how big your home is or what kind of car you drive. It is how you live your life that matters and if you live to your full potential. Striving to do better each day and live your life in accordance with your spiritual beliefs.
I would like to share wisdom words for you to ponder:
"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. "
~ Kahlil Gibran
